The chair of Hybrid Methods in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (formerly: Mobile Multimedia Information Systems) is part of the Institute for Visual & Analytic Computing at the Faculty of Informatics and Electrical Engineering of the University of Rostock. Our focus in research and teaching is the integration of symbolic, probabilistic, and neural approaches within the domains of artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Application domains for our methods are ai-enabled digital twins, smart environments, situation-aware intelligent assistance, and multimodal diagnostic intelligence.

Our method focus is in sequential state estimation by hybrid Bayesian and neurosymbolic models, and in the integration of Deep Learning with symbolic background knowledge.
